Competitor tracking

Track competitor listings on Amazon, Flipkart, Zepto and Blinkit: prices, reviews, badges and availability, on a schedule.

Competitor tracking is built into Meerkats under Data Hub › Market. You add competitor products by name, Meerkats resolves each to a real listing, and then crawls price, reviews, badges and availability on the schedule you set, across Amazon, Flipkart, Zepto and Blinkit.

Each tracked listing is paired with one of your products, so agents can explain a drop in conversion with "the rival on the hero SKU is now ₹40 cheaper" rather than guessing.

Before you start#

  • Your own products added under My products, so each competitor can be paired.
  • A list of competitor product names or listing URLs. You can track up to 30 rival listings per workspace, plus a watchlist.

Connect#

1. Set up tracking#

  1. Open Market

In the sidebar, select Data Hub › Market. The page is titled Competitor Tracking.

  2. Add your products

Select My products and add the SKUs you want to compare. These are the "our side" of each pair.

  3. Add competitors

Select Add competitor, enter the product name or paste the listing URL, and choose the platform. Meerkats resolves it to a listing and shows it for you to confirm.

  4. Set the schedule

Select Schedule and choose how often to crawl. Weekly is the default; daily during launches or sales. The status chip changes from not scheduled to the schedule you picked.

  5. Run the first crawl

Select Run crawl. Results appear on the Pricing, Reviews and History tabs. Price lookup checks a single listing on demand.

What syncs#

Competitor trackingIn Meerkats
Rival listingsPrice, MRP, discount, pack size, deal badges, trust badges (Amazon's Choice, Bestseller, F-Assured), delivery promise, availability
ReviewsCount, rating, and AI-judged themes from recent reviews (always labelled as AI-judged)
Your own listingsThe same fields for your paired products, so gaps are computed per pair
HistoryEvery snapshot, so price and rating movement show week over week

Raw data lands in Data Hub › Bronze Layer. Modelled tables, with metrics defined once, are in Data Hub › Gold Layer. Every number in a report or an agent’s answer comes from a query on these tables, never from the model’s own arithmetic.

Metrics you get#

The metrics people ask for most, named as Competitor tracking names them. The full list, with each definition, is in the metric catalog.

How often it syncs#

Meerkats syncs on your plan's schedule: daily on Free, hourly on the $49 plan, every 30 minutes on $149 and every 15 minutes on $399. You can run a sync at any time with Resync in Data Hub › Bronze Layer.

  • Crawls run on the schedule you set; every number carries its snapshot date, and agents never claim a mid-cycle change.
  • Prices are checked for a pincode you choose per platform. Availability is double-checked before an agent uses it.
  • If a crawl only partly completes, alerts built on it are held until the next full crawl.

What Meerkats can change#

In every connected tool, Meerkats can create, read, update and delete records, within the permissions you grant and the permissions the tool allows. These are the changes it proposes for Competitor tracking, and the limit that applies to each.

ChangeLimit
Add or remove a tracked competitorProposed for approval
Change the crawl scheduleProposed for approval
Your own price or listing changesStaged as a task for the listing owner; Meerkats never changes a price from a competitor signal alone

How every change is governed

Every change starts as a proposal in your Inbox. Nothing changes in the connected tool until a person approves it, unless you set that rule to act on its own.

Before it runs an approved change, Meerkats re-reads the live value. If the value moved since the proposal, it asks again instead of acting on stale data.

Meerkats stores the value it replaced, so every change can be undone from Agents run history.

Anything Meerkats creates starts paused. Switching it on is a second, separate approval.

Example automations#

Type any of these on the New automation page (Automation Agents › + New Agent).

  • “Alert me when a tracked rival undercuts our hero SKU by more than 10% on Amazon”
  • “Send a weekly competitor digest: price moves, rating changes and new deal badges”

Troubleshooting#

Meerkats resolved the wrong listing

Open the competitor, select Change listing and paste the exact URL. Pairs with the wrong listing are excluded from reports until fixed.

Prices differ from what I see

Marketplaces show different prices by pincode, app vs web, and membership. Check the pincode on the platform's settings in Market.
