Razorpay

Connect Razorpay so Meerkats sees payments, refunds, settlements and payment links, and can reconcile revenue to what reached your bank.

Razorpay is the payment side of many Indian stores. Meerkats imports payments, orders, refunds, disputes, settlements and payment links, so revenue in reports reconciles to captured payments and to what Razorpay settled to your bank, fees included.

If your store runs on Shopify with Razorpay as the gateway, connect both: Shopify gives the order, Razorpay gives the payment and the fee.

Before you start#

  • An Owner or Admin login to the Razorpay Dashboard.
  • A read-only API key pair is enough to read. Create a read-and-write pair only if you want Meerkats to create payment links or issue refunds on approval.

Permissions#

What Meerkats needs, and why.

PermissionWhy Meerkats needs it
Key ID and secretAuthenticate API calls. Meerkats stores the secret encrypted and never shows it again
Payments, Orders, RefundsRead captured payments, order references, refunds and disputes
SettlementsRead settlement batches, fees and tax
Payment LinksRead payment links; create them when you approve

Connect#

1. Connect Razorpay#

  1. Create an API key

In the Razorpay Dashboard, open Account & Settings › API Keys and select Generate Key. Copy the Key ID and Key Secret; Razorpay shows the secret once.

  2. Open Integrations

In Meerkats, select Integrations, find Razorpay and select Connect.

  3. Paste the key

Enter the Key ID and secret and select Save. Meerkats tests the key before saving.

  4. Resync

Go to Data Hub › Bronze Layer, pick Razorpay and select Resync.

What syncs#

RazorpayIn Meerkats
PaymentsPayment, order reference, amount, method (card, UPI, netbanking, wallet, COD), status, fee and tax, time
Refunds and disputesRefund amount, reason, status; chargebacks and disputes
SettlementsSettlement batches with amount, fees, tax and the payments in each
Payment linksLink, amount, status, paid time

Raw data lands in Data Hub › Bronze Layer. Modelled tables, with metrics defined once, are in Data Hub › Gold Layer. Every number in a report or an agent’s answer comes from a query on these tables, never from the model’s own arithmetic.

Metrics you get#

The metrics people ask for most, named as Razorpay names them. The full list, with each definition, is in the metric catalog.

How often it syncs#

Meerkats syncs on your plan's schedule: daily on Free, hourly on the $49 plan, every 30 minutes on $149 and every 15 minutes on $399. You can run a sync at any time with Resync in Data Hub › Bronze Layer.

  • Payments appear in Meerkats within one sync of capture. Settlements arrive on Razorpay's settlement cycle, usually T+2 or T+3 days.

What Meerkats can change#

In every connected tool, Meerkats can create, read, update and delete records, within the permissions you grant and the permissions the tool allows. These are the changes it proposes for Razorpay, and the limit that applies to each.

ChangeLimit
Create a payment linkProposed for approval; needs a read-and-write key
Issue a refundProposed for approval with the order and amount shown; never automatic

How every change is governed

Every change starts as a proposal in your Inbox. Nothing changes in the connected tool until a person approves it, unless you set that rule to act on its own.

Before it runs an approved change, Meerkats re-reads the live value. If the value moved since the proposal, it asks again instead of acting on stale data.

Meerkats stores the value it replaced, so every change can be undone from Agents run history.

Anything Meerkats creates starts paused. Switching it on is a second, separate approval.

Example automations#

Type any of these on the New automation page (Automation Agents › + New Agent).

  • “Alert me when payment success rate drops below 85% in an hour”
  • “Email me a daily reconciliation of Shopify orders against Razorpay captures”

Troubleshooting#

The key is rejected

Check you used the live key, not the test key, and that you pasted the Key Secret rather than the Key ID twice.

Payments don't match orders

Match on Razorpay's order ID, which Shopify stores on the order's transaction. COD orders have no Razorpay payment until collected.
